Here is some basic information on iris available to purchase from Kary Iris Gardens:
  Sizes: Iris bloom stalks grow to various sizes depending on which type of iris it is.
Arilbred iris bloom between  12" - 24" tall
Median Iris bloom upto  27 1/2" tall
Louisiana iris bloom between  24" - 48" tall
Spuria bloom between  24" - 60" tall
Tall Bearded iris bloom between  27 1/2" - 40" + tall
  Seasons: irises main blooming season is Spring.
The bloom season is generally classified as
VE = Very Early, E = Early, M = Midseason, L = Late, VL = Very Late & RE = Reblooming
Arilbred iris generally bloom very early in Spring
Median iris generally bloom early, midseason and late in Spring
Louisiana iris generally bloom late in the Spring
Spuria iris generally bloom late in the Spring
Tall Bearded iris generally bloom midseason in Spring and some rebloom in Autumn
Where to plant:
Sun/Partial Sun:  Arilbred, Median, Spuria & Tall Bearded iris do well in sunny locations in the garden
Shade/Water: Louisiana iris do well in shady locations and even in water/pond gardens
Containers: all iris are good container plants if the containers are watered properly and protected from harsh environments
  Patterns: iris come in many patterns, some of the patterns are described below.
Bicolor: the upper petals are a different color than the lower petals.
Bitone: the upper and lower petals are slightly different shades of the same color
Blend: a color pattern where a combination or mixture of two or more colors are present in the same parts of the flower
Plicata: a color pattern where a lighter ground color is stippled, dotted or stitched with a darker color
Self: the upper and lower petals are the same color. A 'true' self also has same colored beard
